Songs for Rainy Days

My second album “Songs for Rainy Days” is now available on vinyl ☔️ This album is a collection of songs that are extremely personal to me and I’d like to think of it as a diary that encompasses all the ups and downs of my early 20s. It captures lessons from long distance relationships, healing from the loss of of love, as well as my ever-changing relationship with social media. This album was inspired by all the music I grew up listening to—Jazz, City Pop, R&B and Classical music, and I'm so grateful that this album gave me a chance to re-introduce the orchestral elements from my childhood back into my music as an adult.

At the tender age of 7, Asian American Cindy Zhang started her foray into the world of music with classical violin, later joining the a cappella community and developing her love for jazz while studying under Grammy-winning producer Kamau Kenyatta.

Based in the US, she nurtured her skills as a producer and became involved in all aspects of her artistry, from songwriting to producing her music. A hidden gem in the making, she carved a name for herself, earning the privilege of performing for Sofar Sounds in the US. Her single ‘Moon River’ charted in Hong Kong and in the span of less than a year, she released her debut album 'Voice Memos'. The album connected her with more fans from all over Asia, including Indonesia, Taiwan, and Thailand.

Cindy musically journals her personal experiences with an RnB/neo-soul songwriting style, her eclectic sound influenced by the likes of Lianne La Havas, Tom Misch, and Mac Ayres. Her voice, ringing bright and honest, captures the essence of emotions that tug at the heartstrings.
