Help BAT make her vinyl dreams come true!

Hey there! My name is Brittany Ann Tranbaugh. I'm an Americana songwriter based in Philly. I've been writing and performing professionally since I was a teenager, always as a side gig until February of this year, when I finally took the leap and became a full-time musician at age 31.

The big event that accelerated this career change was when my queer country heartbreaker "Kiss You" won Song of The Year in the 2021 John Lennon Songwriting Contest. With that title came a cash prize, which I used to fly my beloved band out to LA and record five songs with Grammy-winning producer Tyler Chester. That cash prize undoubtedly changed my life and I'm forever grateful for it. It funded aaaaalmost everything I could possibly want in terms of recording, promoting, and releasing these five songs. But to be frank, the money is all gone now. I no longer have a pot of cash to continue spending on this project.

That's where you come in! Pressing my music to vinyl has always been a dream of mine, but the upfront costs are notoriously prohibitive. Just when I was about to give up on that dream, I learned about this awesome platform called Qrates, that helps artists crowdfund for vinyl record production. Working with Qrates means 0 upfront costs for me, and a streamlined first vinyl experience. Here's how it works:
- the goal is 300 vinyl pre-orders
- if we reach our goal, everyone who pre-ordered a vinyl will get it shipped directly to them later this year :) :) :)
- if we don't reach our goal, the 300 vinyls don't get made :( :( :( but you won't lose money if you pre-ordered, and I won't lose money either

More about this project: after much deliberation, I have decided to make this a self-titled EP (that means it's just called "Brittany Ann Tranbaugh"), because even though it's not my first release, it feels like the beginning of a new era for me, and will hopefully introduce me to a wider audience. Additionally, I feel like this EP marks the cementing of "my sound." Between the songs themselves, the chemistry I have with my bandmates and what they add to my music, and the masterful production by Tyler, this project has elevated my music in a way that feels true to me. So, making this my self-titled EP really feels like a "hey, here I am, here's what I'm all about" moment.

The EP was produced and mixed by Tyler Chester and mastered by Eric Boulanger. It features Joe Plowman on bass and harmonies, Kevin Brosky on electric guitar and harmonies, Adam Shumski on drums and percussion, and Tyler Chester on piano, organ, acoustic guitar, and lap steel. Jackson Emmer co-wrote "Can't Wait No Rush" with me and Joe Plowman co-wrote "Pennsylvania" with me. Photos by Danie Harris. Design by Rachel Sumner.

My hope is that these vinyls get made, and that they become a sweet little part of your lives. I hope the songs affirm you, comfort you, and bring you joy. Thanks in advance for your support. I sincerely appreciate you and quite literally couldn't make a living playing music without you.

xoxo BAT
