"Nightingales is a musical tour de force. Class Collaborative musicianship produced with high precision studio witchcraft. She's a beaut."

'Nightingales' - the new album from Maz Manzini.

Hailing from Middlesbrough, now based in High Wycombe, Maz Manzini has been enchanting audiences around the UK and Europe for over a decade. Maz is a musical storyteller, a passionate chord manipulator, harmonic schemer and pulsating live performer.

In March 2020 as the world began locking down Maz began work on a piece of art....something to steel, inspire and uplift. Released digitally in 2021, 'Nightingales' has now been tweaked and re-mastered for a limited edition vinyl.

Hailing from Middlesbrough, England; a heritage Maz Manzini remains enormously proud of to this day (despite the wavering fortunes of his beloved Middlesbrough FC).

Music soon established itself at the epicentre of Maz’s life – fed and watered by his parents on a rich and varied musical diet, including (amongst many others) The Beatles, Paul Simon, Big Country & Joni Mitchell, Maz soon established a wide and varied musical palette. Having selected the fiddle as his weapon of choice during his early school years, he was soon captivated by a cherry red Stratocaster presented to him on his 14th Birthday. The fiddle has not been seen since…

His musical education ignited by the inspirational song writing skills of Blur and the Foo Fighters, Maz was set to play his first gig with band Subliminal at The Tavern (now The Swatter’s Carr) on Linthorpe Road, Middlesbrough until the entire crowd and the band were turfed out for being underage. The (second) first gig did eventually happen the next week at The Intrepid Explorer a few doors down, who adopted an altogether more lenient approach to fake IDs.

Maz relocated to the south for Uni in 2003, playing solo for a year in some of High Wycombe’s grottiest dives before joining power-pop troubadours, “The Wutars”, notching up over 300 gigs and appearances alongside the likes of Glen Matlock (Sex Pistols), The Divine Comedy, Frank Turner, Towers Of London & Hayseed Dixie. Seven years of gigging with The Wutars has moulded a consummate live performer who thrives on the energy created between musician and audience.

Debut album ‘You Should Have Jumped’ was released in August 2013 and was extremely well received. The Parisienne Girls EP, released August 2015, saw Maz record with his band for the first time. 2021 saw the release of a brand new album 'Nightingales' - his most exciting and diverse to date.
