A dream come true in more ways than one...

• Perform with the Seattle Symphony ☑️
• Release my music on vinyl ☑️

All the wins!!!

It was such an honor to play with the Seattle Symphony last year for their Essential Series, and now I’m releasing the live recordings from the show on special vinyl to make it all the more amazing. ‘Whitney Mongé Live with the Seattle Symphony’ album releases online 8/27 and starting 8/20 to 9/18 I’ll be taking pre-orders for limited edition 12” vinyls. The vinyl features ten tracks from the live performance at Benaroya Hall on October 2, 2020.

A little project background:

To be a little vulnerable, I went back and forth on releasing this album because I struggled with gauging public interest, especially since we are still in such dire times. I’m acutely aware that we all have been going through it in so many complex ways, and it just seemed weird to consider “self-promoting” when a lot of us are struggling to pay rent, take care of our own mental health, missing our families, and all the other facets that have transpired with COVID living. Personally, I’ve been grieving the loss of my mother last summer, along with accepting the massive shift in my music career and opportunities lost. Playing with the Seattle Symphony last October was by far the highlight of 2020 and maybe even my career, so it only seemed right when offered to turn the performance into an album, that I push as hard as I can to get it out to anyone who wants to hear.

Why limited edition vinyls?

I’ve always wanted my music on vinyl and I found this dope website, Qrates to help press my albums in a crowdfund kind of way that doesn’t require me to purchase the albums upfront and will only press what is ordered within the campaign. So basically the album will go to press once 100 or more orders* are made by September 18th, 2021. If for some unfortunate reason I don’t reach the goal, no one will be charged. NOTE: Vinyls will ship in 2-3 months after the campaign ends.

Here are specifics of the vinyl you’ll be getting when you “back” the project:

-12” magenta & neon pink splatter vinyl
-150 gram weight, 33RPM
-Full color CMYK album artwork
-2 page full color CMYK insert
-Black poly lined inner sleeve
-Download card of album + bonus tracks

Final thoughts:

Every time I listen back to the tracks I remain in awe of the performance we produced and I know you will too, especially via the superb quality of vinyl. It is my great satisfaction to release 'Whitney Mongé Live with the Seattle Symphony' to the world because after all I deeply believe music will heal the world.

From the whole of my being, thank you for believing in me and my music!
-Whitney
