Acid Enema is an amalgamation of black metal and speedcore, beginning in 1995. Throughout the years, Abhorrent began to incorporate death and black metal influences into Acid Enema. Side projects with Defiler (Destined to Fail, Pyrrhon) moved beyond sampling riffs into recording original guitars and vocals. In 2002, Acid Enema released a black metal split with Xasthur before going dormant.

In 2014, Abhorrent came in contact with Noth Bloodstorm - a guitarist in Las Vegas who also shared his interest for both speedcore and black metal. With Noth on board as the second member of Acid Enema, "Misanthropic Visions" was written and recorded between March and June of 2015.
