I spent most of 2022 touring solo. In the first shows, I used a "one man band" setup that people seemed to enjoy. But through the process I learned that connecting with an audience on a deeper level meant stripping away anything that didn't provide a direct link to the songs. I was left with just a piano and a mic. I came home and made this album.
