SparkleDammit’s debut EP called Idolatry is loosely based on Neil Gaiman’s books American Gods and Norse Mythology, Grimes’ Miss Anthropocene and Stephen Fry’s book Mythos.
So after 2 years of obsessively consuming mythology, Sparkle pondered the question “If gods were personifications of what were important to humans, what gods would we be worshipping today?” And if these modern gods were around, what would they want from us?
Idolatry is her answer to these questions.
She was heavily influenced by the sounds of Grimes, Bjork, K/DA and The Chemical Brothers during the creation of this EP.
The songs will be dropped in a micro-dosing fashion, so the world will soon be meeting their new gods, Gods that we all have been worshipping, be it intentional or not.
