Designing The Future - Vinyl Album Release!

Designing The Future - Vinyl Album Release!

Hey fam, thank you for supporting me in my efforts to create my first vinyls for my Vaporwave album “Designing The Future”! It was a fun & time-consuming project to make, but your initial response to my Bandcamp release was very encouraging for me! Now, I’d love to give you a beautiful vinyl so you can hear the Vaporwaviness the way that it was originally intended!

Kawsaki is the alias of electronic music producer Kwame Sakyi Jr,  based out of Ann Arbor-Detroit, MI.
After years of making underground Hip Hop songs in his bedroom studio, Kwame decided to expand into Electronica.

He first released material in the early 2010s to Soundcloud under the name k-a-s, and released a minor EP entitled "K.A.S" in 2014. Many of the works from that release were inspired by the underground
French Electronic, and worldwide Retrowave scenes.

Inspired by the likes of cartoons like Cowboy Bebop, and sci-fi movies
such as Blade Runner and The Fifth Element, Sakyi started making music he hoped would reflect the feeling of a not-so-distant future.

In 2015 he would choose the name Kawsaki - a portmanteau of his first and last name; and would later modify this name to include his mother's maiden initial of "W".

In 2017 he released a summer EP entitled “The Chill Coast EP”, a mellow and atmospheric departure from some of his slightly more synth-wavey early works. He later followed up in 2018 with his first full length album “Works Vol. 1” which featured songs he created between 2014 and 2017.

Kawsaki is currently working on new material, with plans of releasing in early 2019.
