No Surrender Riddim

Monkey Marc

"To survive in the streets, them ask how we do it? We tell them, No surrender, no retreat!" (Fantan Mojah)

No Surrender Riddim EP is a limited edition release from Monkey Marc's new Jamaican project with only 500 copies pressed. Pressed on a 10" vinyl and mastered at London's bass heavy giants Transition Mastering, this vinyl pressing weighs and sounds heavy.

In an era of transient digital production throughout the modern music industry, Monkey Marc’s production hearkens back to the classic sound of golden era hip hop and the raw energy of 90s dancehall. No Surrender was produced on an MPC3000 and an ATC1 analog synthesizer, and tracked through a vintage BBC broadcast mixing console in Monkey Marc’s solar-powered studio in Melbourne, Australia.

This 10" vinyl includes versions by Sizzla, Fantan Mojah and Capleton, the instrumental version, and the title track with the three artists. Additional production by Mista Savona (Havana Meets Kingston).

The entire EP is available as a bonus digital download with every record purchase. This includes two extra versions by Jah Thunder and Spring Wata.

The No Surrender Riddim EP is the first release from Monkey Marc's new project Soundclash Inna Kingston Town LP, slated for release in late 2017. The upcoming LP will feature a heavyweight line-up of Jamaican reggae legends including Ninja Man, Iba Mahr, Dre Island, Turbulence, Lutan Fyah, Prince Allah and a host of up-and-coming artists.

“Monkey Marc is a producer’s producer; staunchly independent and probably Australian electronic music’s best-kept secret. His music channels the spirit of punk, original dubstep, Public Enemy, modern beats and electronic culture, and the heaviest of Jamaican riddims all at once.” — VICE

Monkey Marc produces ragga hip hop, dub-infused bass music, and instrumental hip hop out of his solar-powered shipping container studio in Melbourne, Australia.
