Having already established itself as an authoritative voice in underground dance music, reputed digital publication Elation Industries recently reinvented itself as a record label earlier this year, opening up a novel avenue for showcasing the finest emerging talents across the spectrum of house, techno and breaks.

Now five releases deep into what’s shaping up to be a rapidly growing oeuvre of exceptional cuts, the Brighton and London-based imprint returns with the label debut from Bournemouth beatmaker Mr. Sosa, who serves up two sublime slices of entrancing house on the Horsepower EP. At just 21 years of age, the young DJ/producer has already released projects on a myriad of acclaimed labels including Viceworks, Clipp.art and Fresh Take, and has garnered support from key house institution Anjunadeep as well as a wide range of global DJs.

ELA005’s opener and title track “Horsepower” is a progressive piece of aural bliss, entering with retro drum machine samples and an equally nostalgic acid bassline. Furnished by layer upon layer of immersive pads and twinkling synth arpeggios, the vibrant arrangement subtly works its way towards a heady climax, laden with euphoric, spliced vocal samples to make for a wholly exuberant listening experience.

On the project’s flip side, the velvety “Aesthetic Visions” is an equally enticing piece, repurposing some of the same instruments used on its predecessor to create a markedly different but equally spellbinding atmosphere. As the source of the song’s main melody, the reverberating pads take on an almost whimsical quality. Warm, plucked basslines and flourishes of warped, delayed acid harmonies contribute to the track’s ethereal feel, rendering this number one of the most forward- thinking tracks in the Dorset native’s arsenal. Fans of the more meditative side of the house scene are in for a treat.

ELA005 also features two bonus tracks, Repertoire and Ocean Drive will be exclusively released on vinyl for 3 months.
