The debut album from Tom Aspaul is here!

Sonically inspired by Disco from the 70s and early 80s, 'Black Country Disco' was always meant to experienced on vinyl - and by supporting this crowdfunder - you can!

With four singles, nearly 1 million streams and acclaim from The Guardian, Popjustice, Entertainment Weekly and Billboard Magazine, 'Black Country Disco' is shaping up to be a career defining moment for Tom, having previously written songs for Celeste, Kylie Minogue, AlunaGeorge, Snakehips and many others.

In an almost continuous mix - the album tells the story of a tumultuous 18 months - beginning with music industry frustrations, to the end of a five year relationship and ultimately, to leaving life in London behind after eleven years. Arriving back home in the Midlands and inspired to write, while listening to disco and 80s synthpop - 'Black Country Disco' was born.

With zero features and working exclusively with one producer (London-based Gil Lewis) the music is slick, cohesive and fast paced.

When sequencing the album - all ballads written for the project were either removed off the track-list or remixed into something with a beat! Songs were merged together to shed time and make the project as succinct and replayable as possible.

The artwork was months in the making. Inspired by classic record sleeves and film posters from the 70s, it was entirely hand-painted - a collage of three different artist's work. The front sleeve re-interprets the Black Country skyline - any local will be able to spot several Black Country landmarks! The artwork is offset by an aquamarine vinyl for this pressing.

About the project, Tom says:

"I cannot tell you how excited I am to finally realise this concept and release this project into the world! It's been a real labour of love this last year and seeing it come to fruition has been a dream. Every single purchase of this record means the world to me - I can't wait to see the vinyl on your shelves!"
