hello internet music fans!!!
in march 2013, i was still a nervous and reserved high school student, trying to figure out how i wanted to express myself as a musician. seven years later, i'm a nervous and reserved adult who has just remastered the album that kickstarted my life as an independent musician. although this album represents me at a very different time in my life, i've had requests from people looking to buy a copy of it (there was a run of 36 cassettes that have long sold out) for a while, so i decided to remaster the album and make a qrates vinyl campaign for it!
"beast" has a very special place in my heart. the first record i put out as hearts bonfire, it was also the first time any music of mine really got attention: i had a track featured in a tiny mix tapes mix, got reviews of it from all over the world, and also got to play a few shows in the usa and canada. the album was written when i was really unsure of myself, and i think a lot of that teenage self-consciousness really shines through--to hear how people have loved "beast" for years has really humbled me. the cult following this album has is a testament to how music can be a great companion when times are tough.
tapes for this remaster will be available through museum of skin, and those are way easier (and cheaper!) to make than a record. that's why i need you help making this fantasy into a reality :) i hope that this campaign will be able to succeed and bring joy to the people who have wanted their own copy of this album....me included!
