Too Many Records presents... Dylan Campbell - Magic!

Dylan Campbell of Vermilion Club is back, but with an evolved, unique sound that is familiar to fans of TMR-2, but special enough to excite all over again.

After college, Dylan spent almost two and a half years with the Peace Corps in Mozambique. Continuing to make music, he was inspired enough by his experiences and surroundings to craft a follow up LP to his previous effort as Vermilion Club, this time under his own name. Much like the feeling of the music, the album is aptly titled “Magic”. The product of years of refinement, in an attempt to follow up his indie pop opus “Home”, Dylan was working on an album called Sidewalk Ecology. Having mostly finished it, but being the perfectionist he is, he ended up scrapping almost all of it despite it being near completion and started over (almost entirely) from scratch. Borrowing a few melodies and tracks ideas from the “Lost Album”, Magic was eventually born from the ashes of Sidewalk Ecology. Which, honestly, was gearing up to be an epic album in it’s own right, and if you guys fall in love with this album like I have… you never know if that Lost Album will rear its head down the road on this label...

Eschewing some of the sugary, indie pop melodies (while still retaining absolute catchiness), Dylan’s sound soars on this album to be only described as cinematic folk a la Sufjan Stevens and The Tallest Man On Earth. Musical worldbuilding comes to life as you close your eyes and let the arrangements take you on wild progressions through the explosively symphonic peaks and the intimate and honest valleys between them.

As per usual, this will be a one time run on the TMR signature double splatter vinyl with updated art done again by the incredible Tanea who did the anniversary art for TMR-2, Home. While the sound on Magic is different than that on Home, they serve as beautiful companion pieces that both very much deserve to have a place in anyone’s collection.
