The Ark

A Band In Ship

Jam Rock for the Progressive Soul...

A Band In Ship will release their second studio effort, The Ark, on AUGUST 9th, 2019. It will include material they have been playing since the time of The Storm EP that was left unrecorded such as “Lesson Learned” and “The Mind I”. As well as newer songs like “Then What’s the Use?”, Steve Remp’s first addition to the ABIS repertoire, that they’ve been playing since solidifying their line-up in 2017. These 38-minutes were recorded at VuDu Studios by one of Long Island’s favorite producers and engineers, Frank Mitaritonna. It is packed with almost every genre that has been associated with A Band In Ship; riff-driven hard rock, punchy reggae, funky grooves and the occasional ethereal soundscape. From Steve’s ska/punk-heavy background to Nick’s funkiness, Mike’s prog-tendencies to James’ Grateful-disposition, The Ark will be a great cross section of what to expect from the supporting live shows.

Friend of the band, saxophonist John Kelly (of JFK & The Assassins, Funkin’ A, SMG, etc...), is featured on the albums single, “Unadorned”. He will also help celebrate the release of the record with ABIS and The Big Happy at BrickHouse Brewery in Patchogue, NY on AUGUST 10th, 2019. Over Summer 2019 Nick & Mike will embark on a ‘Radio Tour’ across Long Island to talk about the album and play some of the songs. They’ll visit stations such as WUSB 90.1FM Stony Brook University, WHPC 90.3FM Nassau Community College and more.

On JULY 5th, 2019 the band will release a video for “Unadorned” featuring the art of Galaxy Gus. This will be the first of 6 videos to go along with the album, which will be posted from the bands Facebook, until it’s full release on all streaming platforms. Also on this day, The Ark will be available for Pre-Order via Bandcamp (Digital Only) and Qrates (Vinyl Only). Qrates uses a crowd-funding approach to help emerging artists keep costs low and their fans happy! Once the Pre-Order goal is reached, the records will be sent. At this time, this will be the only way to own a physical copy of the album. All Pre-Orders will also receive a free immediate download of the single “Unadorned”.
