The areas of field recording and sound manipulation have always fascinated me. Like a Victorian butterfly collector; sampling, editing, and collecting sounds has become an endless obsession and consumed much of my creative practice. Like the butterfly collectors I enjoy the process of sorting and archiving my collection, processing each individual sound before placing them with associated sounds. In the past I have thought of my sound collection as a form of compost; sounds go in, get broken down, intermingle, and become something new. My collection of sounds is always evolving and becomes an ever-changing palette.
