Crowd funded vinyl pressing of "Sovereign Cell"

This is the debut album by South London-based Stokeley. 18 months in the making, it builds on the ambient synthesis, songwriter cues and lucid production ethic that he's established over 2(.5) acclaimed EPs.

"With this my probable last release, I wanted to try something different. This is far and away the most personal and innate music I've ever written and ever produced, and a release or distribution to go along with that element of personalisation is very important to me at this stage.

Tradiio allowed me to put the streaming in the fans' hands, invest their hard-bargained virtual currency in the art, and show their tastes in a wonderfully interconnected community of tastemakers.

Bandcamp enabled me to give the audiophiles their hifi feast.

But the vinyl heads weren't getting much. So it's their turn now. Initially I was going to have a one off pressing and a pay-it-forward when you're ready system of sharing the vinyl experience.

But QRATES was the logical answer. Invest in a digital copy. If the buzz is enough to max out the 200 run, you get a free vinyl effectively. It's insane, and I can't wait to see what happens."

Documenting a tumultuous relocation to our great nation's capital, Stokeley diversely and dynamically takes the listener into a timeline fraught with colour, regret and desire.

One for the lonely hours, the night buses, Sovereign Cell is a comfort and a curse.
