Zombie Soundsystem (0018)

The Zombie Soundsystem label – headed up by Shane Watcha and also a party of the same name – is pleased to present a new three track EP from Torino based producer DIB. He serves up three tracks of heady underground dub techno and has previously worked on Labyrinth Records, Coincidence Records, NuLabel and many others before now.
His Neutral 001 EP is a no nonsense affair that proves the Italian has serious production chops and a no nonsense attitude to groove. First cut 001.1 is a mid tempo affair rooted with wooden kicks, smeared synths and the most subtle of percussive hooks. It’s one for the early hours that is peaceful yet propulsive and opens things in fine style.
001.2 is then even more heavyweight and futuristic, with purposefully slow-mo drums, perfectly widescreen synths and a rising sense of tension that really locks you in. Lastly, 001.3 is a more upbeat and vertical cut but comes with just as much of a dubbed out bottom end. The synths are more lively and colourful here, the percussion gets a little more loose and free and overall the track is impossible not to dance to.
