To Be On Top was my most ambitious game and music project on the C64. Combining a semi autobiographical adventure game-play with state of the art C64 music that even included sampling was an enormous task at the time. The goal was to create a game where you could arrange your own music piece and try to get to the top of the charts.

This is a limited special edition Vinyl EP for the SID Anthology series, the definitive collection of Original Sound Version recordings from the Commodore C64 by Chris Huelsbeck. Painstakingly mixed and mastered to be enjoyed on modern stereo systems as well as headphones while still preserving the vibe of the original hardware, this C64 music can now be experienced in previously unheard quality.
