Greenland is the name of a well-liked band based in the District of Columbia for about a decade. They draw on a wealth of influences, but what comes out is thought of as 80s/90s indie rock with vocal harmonies that are tight but not slick, with a nod to 70s rock n roll of the Black Sabbath and Neil Young & Crazy Horse persuasion.

Now, after tracking their sixth album over the course of a weekend at a haunted cabin in Luray, Virginia (off of route 666) they are financing a 10-track record that will be appreciated by stalwart and new fans alike.

Shitty Fiction is a (mostly) live record that features songs about hungry ghosts, a moment of trepidation in the face of predatory evil of a mundane variety, and the Washington D.C. Winter Classic in the context of climate change. It was recorded in the cabin with plenty of outboard gear by the skilled and handsome Kyle Downes. The drums and bass as they reverb against massive 17th century logs sound like ghosts trapped in beer cans (or anyways nice and beefy).

Those who pre-order the record will get the digital download of the album free.
